Baseline Awareness Tracking survey
This report presents the results of the first in a series of telephone surveys on the views on management of radioactive waste amongst adult residents (ages 16+ years) of Cumbria. This first survey is intended to provide a baseline so that the Partnership can measure changes in public awareness and opinions on the issues involved.
It was carried out in November 2009 before the Partnership sent a leaflet to homes in West Cumbria and held a number of public meetings. It therefore represents people’s knowledge and views at a very early stage in the process, before they have had the chance to find out how a geological disposal facility would affect them. The information will now be used to help focus the Partnership’s public and stakeholder engagement work for the remainder of 2010.
